Chrissy is an illustrator, surface pattern designer and teacher with a number of years experience under her belt. Since leaving University her creative career has been varied due to her signature ‘hand drawn, layering of textures’ style being popular for bespoke pieces.
Chrissy is from a small village in Leicestershire and graduated from DeMontfort University with a BA (hons) in Multimedia Design. This course allowed Chrissy to use a variety of media – whether graphics, photography or textiles to create interesting and unique pieces that have depth and bags of detail. Chrissys first job after graduating was at a busy screen printers where she designed and prepared placement prints for local companies supplying High Street Clothing Stores. Here, she developed her love for layering prints and enjoyment for working in this type of industry. A few years later, Chrissy progressed to a fashion house where being the sole graphic designer fed on the challenge of working with numerous fashion designers and inputting on their collections for stores such as Matalan and Evans.
Chrissy love for intricate patterns, quirky text and layering of mediums using many skilled techniques inspired her to fulfil her lifelong passion to teach. She has taught on numerous programs from Printmaking, Graphic communication to Pattern Cutting for various qualifications like GCSE, A Level and BTEC.
Chrissy is now at a point in her life where she could happily spend all day creating fab prints for stationery, textile prints and one of works of Art... that’s if Dave the Cat allows her to! She lives with her female cat (yes, I know – very confusing!) and her husband Adam. Being inspired from doing her own wedding stationery as well as the ‘do what you love’ website her 2014 New Year resolution is to create scrummy (I think we need to use more of this word!) items for people to adore and fall in love with... as well as to eat with chop sticks which is her 9th New Year’s resolution!
Her knowledge of Adobe software, being confident to free hand draw (doodling, you may say!), understanding the techniques of various print making and love of experimenting with textiles gives Chrissy such enjoyment. This passion is relayed into individual, detailed work that hopefully is loved by you too.
Chrissy is welcome to commissions, freelance work and producing a range of personalised work to develop her ever growing portfolio for super doopa people like you to enjoy.
